In spring 2020, the upcoming hit musical “Miss Yellow” will be produced in Hamburg, musical metropolis on the Elbe. It is already said to be THE groundbreaking love story of the 21st century. But before that happens, the producers are eagerly looking for the new “Miss Yellow”, sweet as an apricot she must be and hot like a Dragon Lady. Olivia Hyunsin Kim / ddanddarakim took this call seriously and launched a musical talent show called “Miss Yellow and Me – I wanna be a musical”. Asian stereotypes and exoticizing clichés are both lampooned and tested for their potential as a means of self-empowerment.
